(CHICAGO) Big budget cuts for schools are in the Quinn proposal and Mayor Emanuel doesn’t like that.

 

“I understand all the difficulties that go with reforms to pensions,” Emanuel said. “They are difficult, but those difficult choices reforming pensions pale compared to the difficult choices of balancing the budget on the backs of children.”

 

The mayor was careful not to blame the governor for wanting to cut school aid, but rather joined the governor in calling legislators to get on with pension reform.
