Mayor Emanuel is talking about that bad news Tribune poll about him.
Rahm Emanuel’s approval rating is 50%, but his negative rating among African Americans is up to 48% in the Tribune poll.
However, he says he’s more interested in some other data.
“Kids are dropping out. Kids are also graduating at a record number. That’s the numbers I look at. I also look at whether we’re actually making progress in making sure every child and resident in the city of Chicago lives in a safe environment, has a great education and has a great opportunity. So that’s what I look at. I also know I said when I was gonna run that we were gonna do the tough things, tell people the hard truths and do the tough things that are necessary to build the city.”
But his critics say the mayor is trying to do too much, too fast.
