Police Marine Patrol officers rescued a large dog that is put on the ice in Jackson Harbor in the South Shore neighborhood.

Officers were at the harbor in the 6700 block of South Shore Drive for a couple of hours after a call that a large black dog was stuck on the ice, according to police Marine Patrol.

The dog was brought to shore about 10:30 a.m. and is now in the care of city Animal Care & Control.
