CTA Green and Pink Line riders may be experiencing some residual delays Sunday morning after a raised bridge in the West Loop caused the CTA to suspend train service on the two “L” train lines in the downtown area.

Service on these two lines was temporarily suspended between Clinton and Clark/Lake because of that raised bridge, in the area of the Clinton station in the West Loop, a CTA rider alert said.

As a result, trains were operating in two sections:

• Between Harlem and 54th Cermak to Clinton, and,

• Between Ashland/63rd-Cottage Grove to Clark/Lake.

The CTA provided shuttle buses, available at Clark/Lake and Clinton to provide connecting service through the affected area.

By about 11 a.m. the bridge had been lowered and trains on the two lines were back in service through the Loop, but the CTA was advising customers that there could be residual delays for a short while.
