Two people -- who are believed to be a father and son -- were wounded in a shooting Saturday morning in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 9:39 a.m. in the 5300 block of South Prairie Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
The victims were a man in his 40s and a male juvenile whose age was not yet known. According to preliminary reports they may have been father and son, police said.
The older victim drove himself and the juvenile to a nearby hospital, Mirabelli said. The younger victim was reportedly going to be transferred to Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago Hospitals, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports. The two suffered non life-threatening injuries, Mirabelli said.
Details on the shooting were not yet available.
