A south suburban woman who falsely told police her young child was inside her stolen car in order to get a faster police response was ordered held on $10,000 bond Thursday.
Jeanette Holt, 25, of the 100 block of West 155th Street in Harvey, was charged with one count of felony disorderly conduct, according to a statement from police.
Holt called 911 at 9:38 a.m. Wednesday and said her vehicle, with 1-year-old son inside, had been stolen in front of the daycare in the 400 block of East 79th Street, police said. She said she left the keys in the ignition.
Officers searched the area, but were unable to find the vehicle, police said.
But officers son learned that the child was safe inside the daycare, and while the vehicle was indeed stolen, Holt had lied about the child being inside to get police to respond faster.
On Thursday, Holt was ordered held on $10,000 bond, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokeswoman Lisa Gordon said. Holt will be back in court Feb. 13.
