Promotion/Sales Department Internship Objective:
Assist in daily activities of the WLS-AM 890 and WLS-FM 94.7 station promotion department and beyond, which include, coordinating and working on-site events, interacting with listeners/clients, managing the prize giveaways, assisting promotional, sales and programming staff with other miscellaneous duties. Attention to detail, a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard are a must!
Requirements:
• Must have the ability to work both during the week for office hours, but mostly nights and weekends out of office at events/promotional locations.
• Must be a college student, receiving school credit for this internship.
• Must be able to lift 20+ pounds, load and unload station vehicles and so on.
• Must be available to work a variable 15+ hours per week.
• Must be able to interact with others without conflict.
• Must have a strict work ethic.
• Must have knowledge and working ability in Microsoft Office and on the Internet. Photoshop/Illustrator experience is a bonus.
• 15-20+ hours per week, including some nights and weekends. Plus one day per week in the office (office hours) for a period of 4 hours.

Programming Department Internship Objective:
WLS-AM, Chicago seeks interns in programming and news departments for academic credit; the station considers this an ideal internship opportunity for communications and broadcasting majors, especially those contemplating a career in news/talk/producing or as on-air talent. College interns will get a hands-on experience in working in many different aspects of radio. This internship is unpaid and course credit must be earned.
