Police report two strong-arm robberies in Lake View

(Chicago)  Police are warning Lake View residents of two strong-arm robberies on Monday night in the North Side neighborhood.

In both incidents, two to three people approached someone and grabbed their bag before hitting and kicking them, the alert said.

The first robbery happened in the 3200 block of North Sheffield at 6 p.m., and the second occurred in the 3100 block of North Racine at 8 p.m., the alert said.

There were three robbers in the Sheffield incident, police said. One, who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, is described as a 5-foot-11, 25-year-old black man who weighs 200 pounds, police said. The second is described as a 5-foot-9 black male of an unknown age, who weighs170 pounds and was wearing a black skull cap and jacket, police said.

The description of the third robber was not known.

Police could only describe one of two robbers in the Racine incident, who they say is a 170-pound black man between 30 to 35 years old, standing 5-foot-9, police said. He has short hair and was wearing a black jacket and black pants, police said.
