Rahm Emanuel reimburses city $7,000 following Tribune investigation

(Chicago)  The Chicago Tribune has been keeping an eye on Mayor Emanuel's expenses and it has found more public funds spent on politics.

Not once, nor twice, but now three times the Tribune has caught Rahm spending your money on his political trips.

This time it’s $7,000 for bodyguards for his trip to the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This actually breaks a Rahm Emanuel promise he made two years ago, “I don’t think taxpayers should bear any cost for politics.”

And so the mayor’s campaign is reimbursing the city for this $7,000.  For the three cases in question, he has reimbursed the city for nearly $22,000.
