Police warn of strong-arm robberies in Avondale

(Chicago)  Police are warning residents of the Northwest Side of two recent strong-arm robberies in the Avondale neighborhood.

In both incidents, people were knocked down from behind, struck and robbed of property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The most recent robbery happened at 6:37 p.m. Jan. 12 in the 2700 block of North Francisco, while the other happened at 8:17 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 2800 block of North Albany, police said.

The robbers are described as four white Hispanic males, between 16 and 23, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, police said. In one of the robberies, at least one robber was wearing a white surgical mask and another was wearing a red Starter jacket and dark pants.
