Police search for driver in NW Side hit-and-run that seriously injured bicyclist

(CHICAGO) Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left a bicyclist seriously injured after a Northwest Side crash last month.

About 3:15 a.m. on May 9, the car struck the bicyclist at the intersection of Western, Elston and Diversey, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The vehicle–which was not at fault for the crash–took off northbound on Western from Diversey, the alert said.

Police said the bicyclist suffered “very serious personal injuries” but did not release additional details.
