The duo walked up to other women, asked for directions and then pepper-sprayed them before stealing their purses and cell phones, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

 The robberies happened Friday at:
  • 5:35 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Cortez;
  • 8:05 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Haddon; and
  • 10:50 p.m. in the 2200 block of West Hirsch.

One of the women is described as black, about 5-foot-7 and between 155 and 190 pounds. She had brown eyes and black hair worn in a ponytail.

The other is described as a white woman between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-7, about 125 pounds with blond hair in a ponytail. Police said she had a fair complexion.

In at least one of the robberies, they took off in a late model cream-colored car, police said.
