Jonathan R. Gilbreth | Oak Lawn police

(OAK LAWN) A south suburban man was arrested Friday after police responded to a burglary alarm at a tobacco shop in southwest suburban Oak Lawn.

About 3:10 a.m., police responding to an alarm arrested Jonathan R. Gilbreth after seeing him running from behind the Tobacco City store at 10304 S. Cicero Ave., a statement from Oak Lawn police said. He was carrying items apparently taken from the store.

Gilbreth, 20, was caught after a short foot chase, and a witness identified him as the suspect who hit the glass to the business just prior to the alarm going off, police said.

Gilbreth, of the 10000 block of South Austin Avenue in Chicago Ridge, was charged with one count of felony burglary.

He was released on a $30,000 individual recognizance bond, and ordered to submit to electronic home monitoring, according to police.
