(CHICAGO) Former Vice President Dick Cheney was at the Union League Club in Chicago Monday afternoon promoting a new book and playing a little politics.
Cheney was criticizing President Barack Obama for being unwilling to back up his diplomacy with the threat of military action. And he was anticipating how his critics would respond.
“Now there goes Cheney again, he’s ‘Darth Vader,’ he always wants to go to war. That’s not true. Well…most of it’s not true,” Cheney said jokingly to laughter.
And on Hillary Clinton’s classified email problems, Cheney said this.
“I’m stunned that she apparently thought that was a good way to deal with material,” Chaney said. “She said that she didn’t put classified information on it but I think in the last week they came up with two top secret cables that were on there. So I think it is a real problem. I think it seriously raises questions about her capacity to deal with some of the responsibilities that go with being president.”
Cheney was offered an opportunity to say what he thinks of Trump, but he took a pass.
