(CHICAGO) A Chicago crisis management expert is criticizing the way the Blackhawks have handled the developments surrounding the criminal sexual assault investigation of star winger Patrick Kane.
Lissa Druss-Christman of Chicago based Serafin and Associates, told “The Big John Howell Show” on WLS, that last week’s Hawks press conference featuring Kane saying he will “be absolved of having done anything wrong”, was a public relations disaster. “Parading him in front of the media, it was painful. I mean, you watched, it was painful to watch. Especially if someone is involved in potential litigation and obviously there is an investigation. You don’t put someone in front of the media who is involved in litigation especially a younger man who isn’t experienced in this type of talk”.
Depending on what happens in the criminal investigation of Kane, Druss-Christman thinks Kane can someday rehabilitate his reputation, if he keeps a low profile and is humble. She says the way public figures such as former President Bill Clinton, and broadcaster Marv Albert recovered from embarrassing sex scandals, is proof that “Americans are a forgiving people”.
