(URBANA) In Urbana, late Friday afternoon, Governor Bruce Rauner apologized for the state’s financial difficulties.
Rauner was speaking at the dedication of the new Chez Family Foundation Center for Wounded veterans at the University of Illinois when he said this.
“You know we’ve got some financial difficulties, I apologize for that. The University along with many other great institutions are suffering as a result. I apologize; we are going to get through this as fast as we can. I am personally committed to making sure that the University of Illinois is fully supported, that it’s mission is enhanced, that it can grow and benefit our state to the maximum degree possible, and as soon as possible,” said Gov. Rauner
Rauner doesn’t seem to taking any blame with his apology, but rather for the financial difficulties the budget standoff is causing for causes he supports.
