(OAK LAWN) Three men were charged Sunday in connection with two robberies in southwest suburban Oak Lawn and south suburban Alsip.
Andre L. Mendoza, 18; Jacob F. Andres, 19; and Malik Adams, 19, were each charged with armed robbery, according to a statement from the Oak Lawn Police Department.
At 2:03 p.m. on Oct. 1, a man reported that he was robbed of his wallet and car keys while walking on the Wolfe Wildlife trail in Oak Lawn. He told authorities that he was robbed by three men, one of whom was armed with a pocketknife, police said.
The next day, on Oct. 2, police received information that a person was robbed in the gas station south of 111th Street in Alsip. Officers searched the area and located “two subjects that matched the description of the offender,” police said.
The two men were taken into custody. During the investigation, police learned that both of the men were involved in both robberies, police said.
On Oct. 2, a third man was identified, located and arrested, police said.
All three men were in bond court Sunday, police said.
Mendoza, of the 11300 block of South Lamon Avenue in Alsip, is being held on a $150,000 bond.
Andres, of the 5300 block of West 109th Street in Oak Lawn, and Adams, of the 1900 block of North Long Avenue, are each being held on a $90,000 bond.
