Teachers and school officials in McHenry meet again at 7:30 tonight to try and hash out a contract. Meanwhile, students fear missing homecoming activities.
The last nine hour negotiation session ended without a deal but left union officials saying it was a healthy discussion.
Teachers are in disagreement with McHenry District 156 over pay raises and health insurance contributions. Even if an agreement is reached, teachers must still ratify the deal. That means the last home football game and other homecoming activities could be at risk of being canceled.
School officials will also have to also figure out how students will make up for the lost days. The district sets aside just three or four snow days and any make-up days beyond that must be planned.
