(CHICAGO) Noe Mondragon, 22, is charged with aggravated battery/use of a deadly weapon, and armed robbery; and 18-year-old Luis Salgado-Camargo faces two felony counts of armed robbery, according to Chicago Police.
Mondragon and Salgado-Camargo robbed a 27-year-old man and a 26-year-woman at knifepoint in the 1100 block of North Lake Shore Drive about 11:45 p.m. Saturday, according to police.
The man tried to disarm the suspect who was wielding the knife and was stabbed in the back, police said. The robbers then ran away with the victims’ cell phone, wallet, credit cards and passport.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The woman was not hurt.
A third suspect is not in custody.
Mondragon, of the 4100 block of South Artesian, and Salgado-Camargo, of the 4100 block of West 25th Street, appeared in court Monday, police said.
A judge ordered Mondragon held on a $950,000 bond, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. He had been on parole for a separate robbery. Bond was set at $500,000 for Salgado-Camargo.
They are due back in court Friday.
