(CHICAGO) The Cook County Circuit Court has granted the Illinois High School Association’s motion to dismiss a football concussion lawsuit.
The lawsuit, filed last year, claimed IHSA wasn’t doing enough to protect student football players from the damages from concussions. The suit didn’t seek a monetary amount but sought a tightening of rules regarding head injuries.
Listen to Nick gale’s report for WLS News:
In making his decision, Judge LeRoy Martin issued a statement saying IHSA has been acting to protect athletes.
Just last week a senior at Bogan High School died because of injuries in a football game. He was the seventh player in the nation to die from football injuries this season.
