(CHICAGO) Politicians gathered at Soldier Field to mark Veteran’s Day, as they do every year.
They formed a rank on the dais, the senators, the governor, the mayor and U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth.
They all thanked the gathering of veterans for their service and then Gov. Bruce Rauner worked in a pitch for his political agenda.
“The single most important thing we can do in make sure the Illinois economy is health and strong create great careers for everyone who wants to work, especially our veterans,” Rauner said.
After the ceremony, reporters tried to get Rauner to talk about his recent compromises in Springfield, but he waved them off.
