Mayor Emanuel on Tuesday dismissed Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy. He cited a lack of public trust in the police in the wake of a shooting that led to a white officer being charged with murder in the death of a black teen shot 16 times last year. It came as a shock to John, since we were scheduled to have McCarthy in studio on Wednesday morning.
