(CHICAGO) Chicago Police are searching for a man who they say followed a woman from a North Side CTA Red Line stop and sexually assaulted her early Saturday in Rogers Park.
The man was on the train with the 25-year-old woman about 4:40 a.m. and trailed her when she got off at the Jarvis stop, according to a community alert issued Sunday night by Area North detectives.
While she walked in the 1400 block of West Jarvis, he grabbed her from behind, showed a handgun and forced her into a secluded area where he robbed and assaulted her, police said.
He is described as a 5-foot-8 black man between 25 and 35 years old and weighing between 165 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a black winter jacket and knit hat at the time of the attack, police said.
Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 744-8261.
