(PALATINE) One person suffered “minor injuries” when a car was hit by a Metra train Wednesday afternoon in northwest suburban Palatine, authorities said.
Emergency crews were called about an accident involving a car and a Metra train on Plum Grove Road north of Palatine Road at 3:28 p.m., the Palatine Fire Department said in a statement.
Crews found a female in the car with minor injuries, according to the fire department. She was treated on the scene and refused transport to a hospital. No injuries were reported on the train.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Palatine Police Department.
