(CHICAGO) The CTA says crime was down 25-percent across the transit system in 2015.
CTA president Dorval Carter says there were 3,512 reported incidents on buses, trains, rail stations, parking garages and rail platforms in 2015 compared to 4,691 in 2014.
“We are happy with the progress we’ve made so far but we certainly recognize there is more work to be done,” Carter said.
Thefts were down 19-percent and robberies were down by 22-percent.
In part the CTA credits the security camera system for the decline.
