(CHICAGO) Illinois continues to approve patients to use medical marijuana as industry insiders keep a close eye on the program.
Some 400 more approval letters were sent out by the Illinois Department of Public Health in January.
The department says it has approved 4,400 patients for the pilot program including 32 children.
That’s about the same pace as December.
Medical Marijuana industry insiders are watching the numbers closely as they continue to push reluctant doctors to approve patients.
So far the health department says some 5,700 have applied including those being reviewed and the department issuing 635 denials.
