(CHICAGO) Two people have been charged with scratching and hitting paramedics on the Harrison Street Red Line platform in the South Loop Sunday night.
Robert Adams, 42, of the 2700 block of West Harrison; and Cherise Finley, 21, of the 1400 block of South Canal; each face two counts of aggravated battery to a protected employee, according to Chicago Police.
At 10:30 p.m., Chicago Fire Department paramedics responded to a call of an intoxicated person on the Red Line platform in the 600 block of South State, police said.
When the paramedics approached Finley, Adams walked up and hit the responders in the face and body before spitting in their faces, police said. Finley then scratched them in the face, police said.
The pair ran off but were arrested about three blocks away, police said.
The paramedics were treated and released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
Adams and Finley are due in bond court Tuesday.
