(CHICAGO) Parents of Jackie Robinson West little league players are suing to have the teams 2014 World Series title restored.
Attorney James Karamanis says the main goal of the recently filed lawsuit is to seek reinstatement for the championship team.
The team’s title was stripped away after it was discovered some players didn’t meet residency requirements.
The suit contends team officials and Little League International hid the residency information in order to benefit from vast national attention the team was getting.
“It was the Little League’s responsibility to review and confirm the information provided, however at the end of the regional tournament the Little League may have become aware of potential residency issues at the time JRW won the region but said nothing to anyone,” Karamanis said.

Karamanis says he isn’t conceding the players didn’t live within the boundaries, but maintains that the map submitted by JRW was verified as legal during the regional tournament.
