(MARENGO) A man and woman were killed and two other people were injured in a crash Tuesday evening on I-90 near northwest suburban Marengo.
The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. on I-90 near mile marker 34.7, according to Illinois State Police.
Four people were in a car traveling eastbound when the driver lost control, and the car spun out, struck and bounced off the concrete median wall, then struck a semi truck, according to the McHenry County coroner’s office.
Demonte Wigfall, 18, of Godfrey was killed in the crash, according to the coroner’s office.
An 18-year-old woman, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, where she was pronounced dead, according to the coroner’s office.
The two other people in the car were taken to hospitals and their conditions stabilized, police said.
Illinois State Police District 15 is investigating.
