(GLEN ELLYN) The College of DuPage has a new trustee. David Olsen of Downers Grove was sworn in Thursday night. He replaces Kathy Hamilton who abruptly resigned in December following seven tumultuous months on the board. She cited personal issues for her departure.
The 27-year-old Olsen vowed to work in good faith with each member and says he will do his part to ensure best ideas and practices.
Meanwhile, COD trustees Thursday agreed to give DuPage County prosecutors two-year-old closed-session records where the board decided to renew the contract of former COD president Robert Breuder. Breuder was fired in October amid a firestorm of controversy over a $760,000 buyout package.
There has been much dysfunction at the state’s largest community college, which is under federal and state investigations.
Breuder has filed suit against three trustees seeking $2 million.
