The budget battle in Springfield continues to rage on and on but there could be some light at the end of the tunnel. Illinois has more government agencies than just about any other state in the country, and one Democrat has proposed a pair of bills that would streamline the state government to save money. State Rep. Jack Franks joined John to talk to his proposals to break the stalemate. (Listen here)
Mitt Romney thinks it would be great if Donald Trump’s taxes faced the same scrutiny that his did four years ago. He thinks there just might be a “bombshell” of some kind in there, since Trump seems to be evading the issue at this point.
One supporter of Democratic presidential hopeful Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders tearfully took to Facebook to criticize the “sick people” who support fellow presidential candidate Donald Trump. She described the “disheartening” experience they gave her when she called them while phone-banking for Sanders Saturday. The woman went on to say that she was shocked at the animosity she heard leveled at immigrants and minority Americans whenever she had the misfortune to get a Trump supporter on the line.
A business owner in Georgia is requiring employees to get a concealed carry permit and be armed. He also gives each of them a gun called “The Judge.” They sell aviation insurance. He said it was in response to a recent increase in home robberies in the area.
A woman in Maine found out that she needed a kidney transplant, and was told it could take three to six years until she’d get to the top of the transplant list. She wasn’t too happy with that so she took matters into her own hands and posted signs all over town asking for a donor. Amazingly enough, a waitress with four kids responded and now she’ll be getting her transplant. Now she’s looking for help for the waitress so she can afford to take time off for the procedure.

A tech start up in San Francisco is having to lay down some ground rules for their rowdy millennial employees. Not only have they had to ban drinking in the office, but employees have also been found having quickies in the stairwell.
There’s a guy offering a job with a $260,000/year salary and three months of vacation and he can’t find anyone who wants it. It’s not like it’s working in a sewer or engraving asprins or anything, it’s a doctor’s office. The problem is it’s in rural Australia, with spotty WiFi and no one other than kangaroos to hang out with. Would you work in the middle of nowhere for $260,000?
