(CHICAGO) In the race for the Republican presidential nomination, Ohio Governor John Kasich is campaigning in the Chicago suburbs.
Out in west suburban Lisle, Kasich told a packed house at the Navistar headquarters that he’s really in a dead heat with Trump and Cruz, so he won’t make any deal to get out now.
“This isn’t a parlor game,” Kasich said. “This is like, picking the president and people say, ‘well when do they get in, when do they get out, how do they make a deal.’ What? Are you kidding me? I’m running for this job because, first of all, I have the national security experience and I have the record of lifting people with this economy. Why the heck would anybody think that we ought to make deals.”
Kasich also gave a shout out to Gov. Bruce Rauner for “fighting like crazy” to turnaround the Illinois economy and he asked everybody to tell the legislature to work with him.
