(CHICAGO) Police in Virginia say the man responsible for the shooting death of a Virginia State Trooper Thursday is from Illinois.
Police say 34-year-old Aurora, Illinois resident James Brown III is responsible for fatally shooting a Virginia state trooper at a busy bus terminal before he was killed by other troopers.
Virginia State Police say Brown had a long criminal history and had committed a gun crime in his past. They say he had bus tickets for Chicago and say that Brown did not purchase the hand gun that he was in possession of.
Brown was killed by two other troopers. Two women also were shot but were expected to recover.
Police have not given a motive for the shooting.
