(DOWNERS GROVE) A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train Wednesday morning in west suburban Downers Grove.
BNSF Train No. 1252, which was running express from Aurora and scheduled to arrive at Union Station at 8:34 a.m., struck a pedestrian near the Downers Grove Main Street station a few minutes after 8 a.m., according to Metra spokeswoman Meg Thomas-Reile.
The condition of the pedestrian was not immediately known, she said.
All inbound and outbound trains on the BNSF Line remain halted, according to the transit agency. Extensive delays are expected.
