(CHICAGO) The National Wrestling Hall of Fame has stripped former-House Speaker Dennis Hastert of his awards.
The board voted Monday to revoke all honors for Hastert. He was accused of sexually abusing teenagers decades ago when he was a wrestling coach at Yorkville High School.
The organization found that Hastert’s actions were “detrimental to the ideals and objectives” of the Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Hastert was sentenced to 15 months in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to breaking federal banking rules related to a scheme to cover up the abuse.
