(EVANSTON) A Mississippi man who was wanted on federal drug charges has been arrested in Evanston.
Police arrested 34-year-old Corey Eaton during a traffic stop earlier this week.
Eaton was wanted by the U.S. Marshal’s Service on a federal narcotics warrant.
Police brought in a canine unit which found a stuffed animal with two bags of a white powdery substance inside. While the powder did not field test positive for drugs, samples were sent to a crime lab for additional analysis.
Eaton, who hails from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, also had $7,000 on him as well as six cell phones. He has since been turned over the the U.S. Marshals.
The driver of the car was ticketed for driving on a suspended license.
