(CHICAGO) Sunday’s Orlando massacre has Chicago law enforcement increasing security for this weekend’s Pride Parade festivities.
There is no credible threats for the city, but Police Supt. Eddie Johnson says a few hundred more cops will be deployed.
However, Boystown Alderman Tom Tunney just wants everybody to behave.
“I urge all Chicagoans and suburbanites and tourists that if we can do anything to remember the tragedy in Orlando is self respect, respect for the city, respect for law enforcement and abide by the rules to keep this successful, safe and a major tourist attraction for the city of Chicago,” Tunney said. “My message is sobriety, less alcohol, less displays of immaturity.”
Tunney stressed that respect should be the theme for the event.
