(CHICAGO) Construction on a new Loop L station that was initially scheduled to end early Monday has been extended, rerouting several lines into the Monday morning rush.
Orange, Green, Pink and Brown lines trains were being detoured in the Loop via Wells and Van Buren, according to the CTA. No trains were operating on Lake or Wabash.
Those reroutes started at 10 p.m. Friday for work on the new Washington/Wabash station and were supposed to end at 4 a.m. Monday, but the CTA announced the detours would continue into the morning. It wasn’t clear when normal service would resume.
Orange and Brown Line trains were running as one route between Kimball and Midway via Wells and Van Buren. Green and Pink Line trains were running through Wells and Van Buren. Pink Line trains were beginning and ending their trips at the Roosevelt Station, according to the CTA.
Riders can transfer between the elevated tracks and the Red and Blue Line subways from the Harold Washington Library and Jackson stations, the CTA said.
The same closures were scheduled for next weekend as well.
