(CHICAGO) In the end – Donald Trump ended up with over 17-hundred delegates – winning the nomination here at the Republican National Convention. Only one state contested it’s tally: Alaska. After a short discussion, convention officials explained the rule and said he count would stand.
Ivanka Trump says about her father getting the nomination, “It’s surreal. I’m so proud of my father. I’m so proud. We all are.”
Donald Trump appeared via video telling the crowd that he couldn’t wait to address them on Thursday.
The night wasn’t all about “the Donald” though.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made the announcement to officially nominate the Vice Presidential candidate, “Delegates and alternates, ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to announce that Governor Michael Pence has the overwhelming support of this convention to be the next Vice President of the United States,” said McConnell.
The Indiana Governor addresses the RNC tonight.

Shortly after clinching the Republican nomination, Donald Trump said it was an experience he would “never ever forget.”
