(CHICAGO) Police video from the scene of the Paul O’Neal killing 8 days ago, but not the shooting itself, has been released by the city.
“Shocking and disturbing” is what the city calls the video. A “horrific execution” is what the lawyer who’s suing the city calls it.
Ja’mal Green, the activist who speaks for the O’Neal family quoted from the video.
“Paul O’Neal, after he was shot, he was placed in handcuffs and he sat there for a long time, dying, and that was very shocking to me. After the shooting, you also see one of the officers walking off and say, ‘What’s up, Jimmy!’ showing no remorse for what just happened. Then you see him shake hands with a partner and says, ‘Did you get him?’
The famly lawyer -Michael Oppenheimer- is calling for the appointment of a special prosecutor to handle the investigation of the cops on the scene.
