(CHICAGO) Illinois is sending supplies down to Louisiana as residents there recover from the deadly and destructive flooding.
Tim Neitzel with the Illinois Department of Central Management is heading down to Louisiana with the supplies.
“We have and bags and some cots and a water purification system and they said that they sure could use all that so they sent me down to Louisiana with a truckload,” Neitzel said.
Louisiana State Surplus put out an urgent request to other states’ surplus agencies to assist in any way possible with the extreme flooding.
The sandbags, cots and filtration system were acquired by CMS through a partnership the agency has with the federal government.
