Woman shot to death during domestic dispute in Roseland

(CHICAGO) A man was taken into custody after a woman was shot to death during a domestic dispute early Monday in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Officers responding about 12:30 a.m. to a call of a person shot in the 100 block of West 112th Place found the 35-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Chicago Police.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the fatality, but did not immediately provide additional information.

Police said the shooting is domestic-related and a 43-year-old man has been taken into custody. Charges were pending Monday morning.
