(CHICAGO) A man died after being pulled from Lake Michigan Monday afternoon on the North Side.
Emergency crews responded to a call of a person in the water at 2:45 p.m. in the 300 block of West Montrose Harbor Drive, according to police and fire officials.
The Fire Department Marine Unit found the 24-year-old in the water about 100 yards from the lighthouse off Montrose Beach, authorities said.
He was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital, where he died at 3:40 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was identified as Ricardo Salvana of the 6700 block of North Sauganash.
An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
