(CHICAGO) A Southwest Side priest who was charged with having child pornography is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Authorities say child pornography was found in 40-year old Octavio Munoz Capetillo’s home on the 4000 block of South Sacramento in June of 2015.
He is the former director of Casa Jesus, a vocational program of the Chicago Archdiocese.
A prosecutor says that an employee and rector found a live webcam in Munoz Capetillo’s apartment of a child engaged in a sexual act in 2015. The Archdiocese says that after the pornography was found and police were contacted, Archbishop Blase Cupich removed the priest from ministry.
Cops caught up with him earlier this week in Maryland and extradited him to Chicago.
In court, Wednesday, Munoz Capetillo’s attorney said the pastor was sent to Maryland for counseling by the Archdiocese.
His next court date is October 12.
