Beginning today, low income families with young children can begin applying for winter heating assistance,
The state’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program helps pay for utility bills. There is only so much assistance available so the state is encouraging eligible families to sign up early. In most cases the state pays the utility directly.
Those interested in applying or to see if they are eligible should check LIHEAP’s website.
