(CHICAGO) A new poll says nearly half of Illinois registered voters would like to leave the state. The poll from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University
Carbondale, shows that 47 percent of voters say they would like to move out of Illinois while 51 percent prefer to stay in the state.
The poll also showed 20 percent said it was extremely likely, somewhat likely or likely they would leave the state in the coming year. Nearly 80 percent said it was unlikely.
The reasons cited for wanting to leave Illinois include taxes, bad weather, and government corruption.
