(CHICAGO) Cubs fans hoping to get tickets to the World Series should expect to dig deep.
Jesse Lawrence, CEO of Ticket IQ, says the series could be the most expensive in baseball history and may cost more than Super Bowl tickets.
“You know the most expensive game we’re tracking right now on Ticket IQ is $7,212 for Game 5 at Wrigley Field,” Lawrence told the Jonathan Brandmeier Show on WLS AM 890.
Lawrence says the cheapest ticket for that game will run you close to $3,400 and that’s standing room only.
It’s a little cheaper in Cleveland where a ticket for Game 1 is running around $3,100 on average.
But, if you are feeling lucky, there is the Cubs postseason ticket lottery where the team says thousands of tickets will be available, but there is a lot of competition. As of October 12, more than 1.7 million fans had registered for the lottery.
