(CHICAGO) The Chicago Teachers Union has ratified a new four-year contract and CPS CEO Forrest Claypool is claiming the deal actually saves hundreds of millions of dollars.
Claypool’s spin is that the new deal saves $400M compared to the old deal. Here’s how.
The cost of living raises…are lower than have historically been the case. There’s been significant healthcare reforms in terms of plan redesigns as well as contribution increases,” Claypool said.
But Claypool concedes he’s counting on Springfield to provide a big chunk of money to pay for the new teachers contract and counting on Springfield has disappointed legions of people in recent years.
