(CHICAGO) Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson is explaining why the city is experiencing a spike in crime.
At the City Club, Supt. Johnson said the reason for Chicago’s spike in crime is not complex. It’s simple.
“Our repeat gun offenders, or I shouldn’t even say our repeat gun offenders, our gang members in the City of Chicago think our judicial system is a joke. That’s why we’re having such a spike and yet police officers want to be the police. Dont get me wrong. They’re cautious because of the national narrative out there right now, so they’re careful about how they do police but at the same time, the biggest reason for this spike is because our repeat guys just don’t fear the judicial system.”
And that’s not a professor in an Ivory Tower saying it. It’s the police superintendent.
