(CHICAGO) As the damage following Tuesday’s tornadoes in La Salle County and other areas of the state continues to be assessed, there are things home and business owners should do as they wait for their insurance agent.
Most importantly, protect your stuff and make temporary repairs. That’s the advice from State Farm.
“If you do make those temporary repairs, make sure you keep your receipt, keep and pictures you may take so it makes that claims process go even smoother,” Says State Farm spokeswoman Missy Dundov. “Do not do any permanent repairs though. You just do temporary so that way we can figure out what you policy will cover so you don’t have any unexpected expenses down the way thinking you had coverage.”
She says state Farm has brought in adjusters from across the Midwest to help with the claims process.
